This is really for two days: yesterday and today. That is why it is so long.

I earned my Bobcat Badge in Cub Scouts! See it hanging from my pocket? At the pack meeting Friday, we did skits and are kettle desserts from the fire. We learned about camping procedures. I got to go up and receive my Bobcat Badge (Debrin got to pin it on me) and ring the big bell. They put it on upside down on purpose until you do your first good deed. I did two, so my mom had “the honor” of turning my badge so I'm now a true scout. I have already completed the requirements for my scholar pin! I need to earn 15 pins to get the Arrow of Light patch and move up to Boy Scouts. We are going to start fundraising by selling yummy favors of popcorn, so if you can buy some and help me reach my goal, that would be very nice of you.

The picture below is of me learning to wash a car, then I learned to check the oil and use a tire pressure gauge to check the tires. That's part of my requirements to earn my Handyman pin!!!

I had to go to the doctor today for my physical and the check up you do every year. I had to get blood taken. I didn't like that. I'm almost 4'7″. Only three inches shorter than my Grama Tina!!! I have to lose a little weight, so I am eating healthy food and have chosen as my first fitness challenge for Cub Scouts to choose water to drink instead of juice or soda which I'm not allowed to have anyway. I also chose to do chores and I take care of the dogs. I got toothpaste all over the bathroom floor, but I cleaned it up before my mom even asked me to.

My new favorite food is no longer pizza! It is my Grandma Tina's Indian Chicken Tiki Masala!!! My Uncle John and Cousin Tanis are coming to visit Sunday. Grama Tina is making curry, naan, chutney, and raita! Yum! My dad really likes Indian food too. He made some with Grama Tina once. They are both good Indian food cooks.

This weekend, my friend Hadleigh came over and helped me put the second layer of Papier mâché on my balloons for my solar system project. Then we had a goop fight! We both got really messy. It was fun. It is hard to get out of your hair though.

I've been working on a new way to do really long multiplication problems that makes it easier. I'm using all the math rules I've learned so far.

Fahrenheit 9/11 summary/opinion

Yesterday, I watched a more in detail movie about 9/11. This was from another person's perspective. I learned that some people think the war on terror was a war for money, oil, and selling oil for money. I learned that some people question whether George W. Bush was involved in part with the people who destroyed the twin towers. I think anyone who saw the footage from different angles like from the street up would have questions about how two planes could destroy buildings built to deal with six planes hitting them at once since the planes hit so far up, but both buildings crumbled. I learned from my mom that different people have different opinions and that I need to do research to form my own opinions. She said I should always question everything and not believe everything I see or hear until I seek out the truth for myself. I will need to do more research to final my opinion on this tragedy.

Oral History Essay Rough Draft

Before I talk about the emails I got, I would like to thank everyone who emailed me their answers. (Thank you!!!) I got an email from 3 people in NC, 1 in NY, 6 in FL, 1 in CT, 1 in WA, and one in TX.

I’ve never seen the world trade center, but some people have. 10 people haven’t but only 3 have. Specifically, Aunt Kristin went to Windows of the World in the World Trade Center every year at Christmas time until 1984. (Because Kristin has a twin sister, they thought that the “Twin Towers” were theirs!) After 9/11, some more people wanted to go to the new building/memorial. 6 still didn’t, 2 want to, 5 did. Poppa went there recently in March 2014 and saw the memorial and the new building almost complete. Jamie walked by the memorial in 2011 and saw a picture of the finished building of the world trade center.

There were a lot of different people in different areas, (In the morning of September 11th) there were five people who were in work, four at school, (some teaching some in classes) one of them visited family members, and one was at the gym, one at home, and one playing golf. Everyone heard about the world trade center somehow. 11 people heard about it from the TV, 2 from the radio, 1 person heard it by someone else telling them, 4 found out from co-workers, and 2 from teachers. Kristin, when she heard, told her dad and everyone else in her family in New York at the time. Thankfully, her dad got them all out of the city in time before they didn’t let people go in or out of the state.
